0514 — I’m going to have to start a new type of article just for my experience at Beaver’s last night before heading out to Matt Darey at Rich’s. During this rainy and rather gloomy night a few of us decided to head out to Beaver’s for some food with Jonathan Jones and the rest of his crew at Beaver’s. A quick talk with Nick Salvatore and I knew exactly what I wanted. I’ve been to Beaver’s on numerous occasions with him and other food friends however this experience this round was unreal and an obvious exercise in gluttony at its best. The rain hampered some of the travel times of our friends so Alec and I opted to order the seafood campechana and the knocked up. Both were excellent starters that I’ve experienced before, I’m in love with the knocked up bringing the best of both worlds into a single bowl. As time progressed Alec decided he wanted to try the special of the night, Country Side Farm Rabbit Liver with Dijon vinaigrette, pickled veg, beavers garden greens, and raisins.

As the rest of the party arrived we entered in our entree orders,  BBQ Tofu, Chopped Beef Sandwich, Beaver Nut Burger, Beaver Burger, Green Rabbit and the off-the menu plate of gluttony, the Salvatore Slammah, the sandwich named after Mr. Nick Salvatore himself. This iteration had two patties, cheese, fried eggs, mac and cheese, cole slaw, bacon, fried onions, red onions and a sliver of lettuce all sandwiched between two grilled cheese sandwiches. Ladies and Gentlemen, THIS is why I’m fat.

The dinner was great, fun with friends over a great meal and great drinks, what more can you ask for? Thanks to JJ and Claire behind the bar for the hospitality!
